Stepping Through Mingus

by Joshua Wiener
Louisville, Colorado

Joshua Wiener states, “I am not sure if people are ever inspired by a single experience, so I suppose to say anything in art or otherwise will have to be expressed through a life of work.”  Joshua's sculpture shows a commitment to understanding material, tools, and new ways to apply them.

As a 32-year-old full-time artist he has created five public art projects in addition to water features and land art.
The Marble Institute of Colorado was the springboard to Weiner's sculpting career.  M.I.C. is a symposium attended by professional and beginner stone sculptors experiencing a variety of techniques  which was critical in his development.
